Regent Park revitalization by Daniel’s Corporation

Regent park is host to one of the biggest investment initiative ever taken by Daniel’s Corporation with the City of Toronto and Toronto Housing Corporation to revitalize our downtown core and raise the living standard now offered in the slums of Toronto.

Regent park came into being in the late 1940s and is Canada’s oldest and largest social housing project.  The, then, Cabbagetown was sliced to make way for the project and moved over to the historic neighborhood known as Cabbagetown today formerly as Don Vale.

This is a 15 year project that is now underway and I met with Daniel’s sales representative, Robert Leliever, who took us on a video tour of Regent Park and what it would look like in future.

As mentioned in the video, there is lots of development taking place and great number of opportunities for buyers and investors looking to buy and invest in the area.

Reactions are mixed to this day about the project.  I think it’s a great project which is bringing much-needed employment and infrastructure including better planning to avoid us from making our mistakes from the past.

What do you think?  Do you think it’s a good project?  What could have been done differently?
