Rise in Break-ins over the past week

This message was shared by Cabbagetown South Resident’s Association that I’m helping propagate. Rise in House Break ins in the last week We have heard several reports of break ins in the neighbouhood in the last week.  We remind area residents to be vigilant in keeping doors and windows locked.  We also ask that if you see anyone suspicious hanging around near your property on the street or laneways to call police and report it.  If you see someone checking out a neighbours gate, fence, windows or doors and sense something is not right call 911 and explain what is going …

Cabbagetown Forsythia Festival 2017

Spring is almost here!  Though it might not look it if you’ve seen what’s happening outside with all the white stuff everywhere.  A new season means that it’s also time for our Forsythia Festival.  I’ve not taken part in this festival over the past two years but am really looking forward to going back and spending the day with old friends and making new ones. I’m working with an national retailer who is looking to pick a home in Cabbagetown to setup storage solutions for them. The right home would be a worker’s cottage or older smaller property with not much storage space. The retailer would bring in a designer to help design storage space in the home. 1st Annual Cabbagetown Pumpkin Walk – Nov 1, 2013

Join your friends at Don Vale Resident’s Association for our first ever Cabbagetown Pumpkin Walk to be held tonight at the RIVERDALE FARM starting at 5 PM. Just bring your Halloween pumpkins and candles to the farm and light up the night with your spooky creations!  The city of Toronto will be collecting and disposing them after 10:00 PM. The Daily Food Bank will be accepting non-perishable donations at the Winchester Street Entrance so please support the good cause. See you tonight!

The Cabbagetown Festival Opening Ceremonies

The Cabbage Cutting Opening Ceremonies The ceremonial cabbage cutting is what officially opens the 37th Cabbagetown Festival of the Arts.  It takes place Saturday Sept. 7 promptly at 11am on the TD Main Stage. Join us with the Cabbagetown BIA chairman Frank Bernardo, the Queen (Luba Goy) and The Honourable Bob Rae for what promises to be a very amusing opening to to this years amazing festival. Cabbagetown Annual Blair’s Run

Tomorrow is the Cabbagetown Annual Blair’s Run. It’s the 34th mini-marathon that kicks off the Cabbagetown Festival of the Arts activities with an early morning run to raise funds in support of the Cabbagetown Youth Centre. Registration is $10.00 and starts at 8:30am; race time is 9:45am. Immediately following the race the Awards Ceremony will take place on the TD Main Stage, hosted by Marilyn Marshall.
