Subsidized Community Tree Planting program

Many of our old trees have been taken down over the last few months due to disease. You know the ones….they were marked by a big DOT. It is important that new trees be planted to replace those that have been removed to close the holes in the Cabbagetown South ‘Tree Canopy’. Help IS available through LEAF – Local Enhancement & Appreciation of Forests. They are booking consultations for their subsidized tree planting programs designed to beautify yards, create wildlife habitat and cut energy consumption in Toronto and York Region.

Give them a call AT 416.413.9244 OR go to their website for more information www.yourleaf.org

Here is what you can get….

  • A 30 MINUTE CONSULTATION!
  • a 5-8 FOOT TREE
  • FULL TREE PLANTING SERVICE

The COST = $150-200 for all the above.

Native species are also available.

This email is part of the Cabbagetown South Resident’s Association effort to give information and resources to support the Environment. If you didn’t come out for the Earth Hour Candlelight Walk you can still download the self-guided tour from the website and take the walk on your own when the weather is a little warmer. Pictures of the Earth Hour Walk will be posted on the website. Watch for the walk to be featured on Rogers Cable in the near future.
