This message was shared by Cabbagetown South Resident’s Association that I’m helping propagate. Rise in House Break ins in the last week We have heard several reports of break ins in the neighbouhood in the last week.  We remind area residents to be vigilant in keeping doors and windows locked.  We also ask that if you see anyone suspicious hanging around near your property on the street or laneways to call police and report it.  If you see someone checking out a neighbours gate, fence, windows or doors and sense something is not right call 911 and explain what is going ... Do you own a cottage in Cabbagetown?

I’m working with an national retailer who is looking to pick a home in Cabbagetown to setup storage solutions for them. The right home would be a worker’s cottage or older smaller property with not much storage space. The retailer would bring in a designer to help design storage space in the home. The work would be done in in July or August and as an inducement for the owner’s assistance, they will be hooked up with some of the products from this story. If you own a worker’s cottage in Cabbagetown and would like to submit your home for ... Read More »

Cabbagetown’s “Home of the Week”

Cabbagetown’s “Home of the Week” Hailed by the Globe and Mail as Cabbagetown’s “Home of the Week,” the beautiful Victorian home on 337 Wellesley St. E., Toronto enters the market at $1,198,000.  Between this home’s rich heritage and bewitching interior design, it is one of Cabbagetown’s finest properties on the market – and won’t be for long. A polished plaque hangs by the front door declaring the original own to be Thomas E.B. Yates, a clerk.  Local heritage authorities have restored much of the structure and design since 1902, preserving the beautiful work of Charles Gibson.  Some rooms have been ... Read More »

Social Media for Local Businesses

I attended the Cabbagetown BIA’s Website Strategy FREE training event yesterday and came out thinking about some of the stats that I’ve been noticing on our website. The theme of the meeting was all about websites and how content is king and search engines are queens that we have to bow to. Social media helps us get our message to people that love and like us while willing to putting up some of our worthless updates including food pictures. I recently read a review in Canadian Business Magazine that talked about LinkedIN that has seen great amount of increase in ... Read More »
